Have you ever talked to someone whom at the end of the conversation left you smiling and just feeling excited? I recently had this pleasure whilst talking with Philanthropist Susan Bertrand, President and Founder of Maureen’s Hope Foundation and host of the iBelieve Inspirational Event. Susan truly leaves you feeling inspired, and with the realization of the power that’s inside of you to get you through anything you may be facing. After all, the mission statement of Maureen’s Hope Foundation is, “to offer practical support and assistance to people facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis or other life altering disease.”
Susan started Maureen’s Hope Foundation to commemorate the loss of her sister Maureen, whom gained her angel wings to clear cell adenocarcinoma cancer in 2003, at the young age of just 31. Susan and many of those touched by a life altering illness or trouble believe there are more ways to support someone facing issues than just the basics that we tend to see or hear about on a daily basis. “When faced with a life altering diagnosis of cancer or other disease, patients have many needs that cannot be met by the medical community. Maureen’s Hope helps meet those needs by catering to individuals on a personal level. By providing gift baskets and services that offer comfort and strength, Maureen’s Hope helps to improve their quality of life.”
“We all go through experiences in life that leave us a changed person. I don’t think I had ever truly understood how essential it is to live your life with hope until I watched my younger sister, Maureen, during her two-year battle with cancer. Hope gave her the courage to face life’s challenges and the belief that life holds wonderful possibilities. It kept her dreams alive and nourished her spirit. Maureen was blessed with hope and, though it exists for all of us, sometimes it must be found. Our vision of hope is not just about achieving a desired outcome… it’s about the journey and we hope to make that journey a little easier for others.”

Sometimes just having someone to listen, and reach out to you while you’re going through something most won’t face daily, is one of the most impactful and meaningful things someone can do. The iBelieve Event that Susan is holding as a benefit to raise money for Maureen’s Hope Foundation, on Sunday March 29th 2020 is an event geared toward happiness and inspiration. It is meant to uplift and encourage those that have any type of challenge in their life, or for anyone that is seeking to create their own network of happiness, motivation, and positive inspiration. It will have speakers that are geared toward mind, body, and spirit to bring folks together for face to face comradery to combat loneliness and the feeling of isolation during hard times.
The iBelieve event will have Dr. Maryann Roefaro discussing, “Creating the Conditions for Joy.” There will be a guided chocolate meditation with topic “Greatness: A Mindset for Success” from Dr. Kaushal Nanavati. Keynote speaker Tom Varano (whom also graduated with Susan’s sister Maureen), is a speed painter and motivational speaker.
